Attending the meeting, on behalf of Quang Ninh Industrial University were Dr. Hoang Hung Thang - Party Secretary and Rector of the University, and several heads and deputy heads of departments. The delegation from Saskatchewan Polytechnic was led by Dr. Malik Has – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha – Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Director of the Saskatchewan Office in Vietnam, and other members.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Dr. Hoang Hung Thang, the Rector of the University, was delighted to welcome the delegation from Sakatchewan University of Technology to visit and work with the University. Dr. Hoang Hung Thang briefly introduced the history of development and outstanding achievements in training, scientific research, and international cooperation of the University in recent years. The University leadership hopes that both sides will continue to exchange ideas and develop a plan for future cooperation in training in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Dr. Malik Has, representing Sakatchewan University of Technology, introduced the University: Sakatchewan University of Technology is located in southern Canada. Currently, the University has four undergraduate and graduate campuses in the cities of Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon, with over 15,000 students, including over 150 Vietnamese students among the total of more than 3,000 international students. The university offers over 65 undergraduate, college, certificate, and postgraduate certificate programs for international students. Approximately 96% of graduates find employment within 6-12 months of graduation. Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha – from the Canadian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City – provided further information about Saskatoon, the largest city in the province, and its favorable legal policies regarding employment and immigration opportunities in Canada for international students after graduation.

During the meeting, representatives from Quang Ninh University of Industry and Sakatchewan Polytechnic discussed areas of cooperation in training, including: transfer programs - 2+2, 3+1, and 4+0 programs; faculty and student exchange programs between the two universities; credit and degree recognition; and scientific research cooperation.

Dr. Malik Has, representing Sakatchewan Polytechnic, thanked Quang Ninh University of Industry for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the opportunities for cooperation between the two sides. He expressed his hope to welcome more students from Quang Ninh University of Industry to study in Canada in the future through the cooperation programs between the two universities. At the end of the meeting, the two delegations happily took a commemorative photo.
